Department involved in three Innovative Teaching projects presented in Reus.
At the Jornada d'Innovació docent 2025, organized by the URV Institut de Ciències de la Educació, members of the Department of English and German Studies participated in the presentations of three projects.
Andrea Roxana Bellot presented the project Millora de la comprensió lectora i la retenció: estratègies d'anotació i visualització en textos literaris en formats digitals i en paper, which suggested how to improve reading comprehension and retention by applying strategies for the annotation and visualization of texts, both in digital format and on paper. Perhaps the most surprising finding was that most of the students actually preferred working on paper for these kinds of activities.
Lídia Gallego-Balsà presented the project Caminem cap a una societat més inclusiva: Generació de materials pedagògics per al desenvolupament de la consciència plurilingüe i intercultural en l'alumnat d'estudis preuniversitaris, carried out with Anna Roigé Pijuan of the Escola Pau Delclòs in Tarragona. The project showed how sets of materials presented in "learning boxes" can integrate a holistic vision of the students' multilingual competence, as found in two primary schools in Tarragona.
Nune Ayvazyan led the project Multilingual Competence: Implementing AI (ChatGPT) for a Multilingual Classroom Success, which was presented on this occasion by Anthony Pym. The project showed how generative AI can be integrated into language tasks in the faculties of Tourism and Psychology, in addition to undergraduate classes in the English degree.
