Beyond Translation: New rules, new translators.
APTIC, Professional Association of Translators and Interpreters of Catalonia organises a round table to present possible professional paths available to Translation graduates. The skills and abilities acquired during translator training can open the door to professions other than the classical idea of the translator sitting in front of the computer.

Curs en anglès sobre Catalunya i Espanya per a estudiants visitants ERASMUS
Setembre 2017 (I) - Febrer 2018 (II)
The Department of English and German Studies has been offering the module "Catalonia and Spain in a European Context" since September, 2017. The course is open exclusively to incoming ERASMUS students and is taught entirely in English. Its main objective is to encourage students to participate actively in intercultural debates whilst learning about the basic aspects of Catalan and Spanish Culture. Topics range from geography, history, architecture, music, literature, art, popular culture and others. The intercultural interests arising from these topics will give students the opportunity to make comparisons with their own home cultures. The course is offered each semester. Students who have attended the course so far have come from Australia, Cambodia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
